Chief Finance Officer
Recruitment
Welcome from Professor Mel Pickup
Thank you for your interest in joining us at Bradford Teaching Hospitals as our new Chief Finance Officer.
I’ve been proud to have been Chief Executive of the Trust for the last four and a half years during what has been one of the most demanding times for our dedicated staff working through a global pandemic and the subsequent, ongoing recovery. I hope you will enjoy exploring this microsite to discover more about our journey, our vision, our achievements and our commitment to the people that we serve. I have found Bradford to be a dynamic place because of the diverse and talented people who work and live here.
We are an anchor institution in the city of Bradford with an annual budget of over £575 million and 6,700 staff. As a teaching hospital we help train the next generation of healthcare professions as well as being at the forefront of healthcare research and development.
This is both an exciting and challenging time for us as we face increasing demand for our services alongside significant, escalating financial pressures. We are seeking a new Chief Finance Officer, who not only shares our vision to be an outstanding provider of healthcare, research and education and a great place to work, but also understands the importance of creating an environment where all our teams thrive. As a Board we are completely committed to creating a compassionate and inclusive culture that will support all of our staff to be the best that they can be.
Our Chief Finance Officer will play a pivotal role in fostering a collaborative and innovative approach within our teams. We want a leader who can question and challenge convention as we seek to utilise our resource to deliver the best for our patients, staff and communities. Together, we will strive to deliver high-quality services that are financially sustainable and developed in partnership with our system; ensuring our finance and procurement teams are customer-focused and adaptable.
Our Chief Finance Officer will work closely with me and the Board to ensure that our corporate services partner with our clinical teams and that all our staff are supported. They will also work externally to ensure we are at the forefront of developing collaborative relationships across all health and social care sectors within the West Yorkshire ICB and continue to be an integral part of Bradford District and Craven HCP.
The Chief Finance Officer is a key leadership role on our Unitary Board and I am seeking a leader who can contribute across our complex agenda. This is a rewarding role, an opportunity to join our ambitious Board and to make a difference.
I hope you will seek to find out more about us on this recruitment site and please do contact our advisors at GatenbySanderson in the first instance to discuss your interest and the process; Steven Levin, Emily Smith or Emma Pickup via steven.levin@gatenbysanderson.com.
I look forward to meeting you during the process.
